The film Rocky was mad in 1976 and is an
American sports drama film. The film tells the story of Rocky Balboa, who was
poor, uneducated but loved to box. As the film progresses Rocky gets a shot at
the world heavyweight championships. The film won three Oscars at the 49th
academy awards and is DEFINITELY a must see sports film.
2. The Blind Side
The 2009 film, The Blind Side is based on a
true story about an American footballer Michael Oher. The story of Michael Oher, a
homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and
first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family. It
is clear that The Blindside is an iconic film for the whole family to enjoy.
3. The Mighty Ducks
The 1992 sports comedy The Mighty Ducks
tells the story of a selfish attorney Gordon Bombay who is sentenced to
community service of coaching a terrible hockey team with no talent. Bombay
eventually commits to the hockey team and helps the players learn the sport and
make it to the playoffs. The Walt Disney Film is another classic sports film.
4. Bend it like Beckham
The 2002 sports film depicts a young girl
of orthodox Sikh religion who breaks away from her traditional roles and joins
a football team. The sports film became
increasingly popular and earned over 76 million dollars.
5. Cool Runnings
This 1993 sports comedy film portrays a
Jamaican sprinter who fails to make it in to the Olympic games. Still
determined to make it to the Olympic games he creates the first ever Jamaican
Bobsled Team. The film highlights teamwork and unity and is another must see
sports film.
